DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES THIS OUTAGE HAS BEEN DEFERED TO A LATER DATE, TO BE ADVISED....

Sydney Network Upgrade - After a significant disruption to service on Saturday the 2nd of February caused by the failure of a Cisco RP2 processor card in our Sydney Cisco ASR1004, we will be removing this chassis and replacing this with a Cisco ASR1006 with dual route processors to add a level of redundancy in the extremely care case of an RP failure. This chassis also increases our routing capacity to 100G in this location to match the capacity of our fibre ring.

This change will involve the physical removal of the ASR1004 chassis and the installation of the ASR1006 chassis due to rack capacity in this location.

The total estimated downtime is expected to be between 30-45 minutes with engineers over estimating this for safety, engineers are aiming for 15 minutes which they feel is achievable unless anything unexpected occurs.

This outage will impact routing across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland with route propagation and BGP convergence causing some instability during the outage window.
